Confidentiality & Privacy The law protects the relationship between a client and a counselor, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. Exceptions include: Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim. If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
Policy: Appointments must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or the responsible individual will be billed for the full charge of a one hour session. In the case of a late cancellation, which is same day as an appointment, a full session charge will be made directly to the office by the client. Exceptions are an emergency situation in which the client can provide documentation such as a hospital visit or sickness documented by a doctor.
Please Note: If a client chooses to pay for appointments in advance, he or she will receive the amount of 1hour sessions paid for in advance. However, if a person(s) chooses to cancel the appointment(s) our office does not reimburse for those sessions. You may only receive a credit for the sessions you paid for in advance and no monetary reimbursement.
